Story
I spent my youth hiking in the Boland mountains dreaming of one day being part of the efforts to conserve and protect this special biome for future generations. With high school behind me, I set myself the goal learning all I can in regards to ecology and biodiversity completing my degree in Conservation Ecology at Stellenbosch and a Nature conservation diploma. The more I learnt the more I realised the fatal flaw of conserving. Always clinging on to what we have, looking past opportunity to grow, improve and regenerate. Stepping away from Conservation took me into the classroom where I spent the best part of a decade trying to move young minds and harts to a love of nature. In 2021 My Wife and I started Leef Independent school. Our small numbers allow us to focus truly on the individual and cater the learning experience around a growing and regenerative permaculture garden. Our dream is for Leef to be a beacon of true positive resonance. Promoting love for our natural world and the community around it.
