Nutrient Density

Nutrient Density

Definition

A measure of the amount of essential nutrients per calorie of food, indicating its value for health and vitality.

Interpretation

Food that feeds you fully. Nutrient density speaks to quality over quantity β€” flavor over filler. In permaculture, we grow for density, not just yield β€” because health begins before the harvest.

Living Invitation

Next time you eat, ask: Is this food nourishing me... or just filling me? What’s missing that nature could provide?
